Veterinary Medicine is the branch of science that deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease, disorder and injury in non-human animals. The scope of veterinary medicine is wide, covering all animal species , both domesticated and wild, with a wide range of conditions which can affect different species. Veterinary medicine is usually only practiced by professionals, normally led by a veterinary physician (also known as a vet, veterinary surgeon or veterinarian), but also by paraveterinary workers such as veterinary nurses or technicians. This can be augmented by other paraprofessionals with specific specialisms such as animal physiotherapy or dentistry, and species relevant roles such as farriers. Veterinary science helps human health through the monitoring and control of zoonotic disease (infectious disease transmitted from non-human animals to humans) and veterinary scientists often collaborate with epidemiologists. They want my educational goal - but what's the difference here? -Obtain a Masters or Doctorate -Attend a professional school upon completion of a Bachelors Degree (Law/Medical, etc) My final goal is in Holistic Veterinary Medicine, but it's still a DVM - a doctorate. So is there a difference? Does it mater which one I check? Would one of those look better than the other? Asked by Jill - Wed Feb 16 15:06:13 2011 - Higher Education (University +) - 2 Answers - Comments A. Vet med is a professional school. Yes you earn a "doctorate" but for the purposes of this form a doctorate is referring to a Ph D not a DVM. But, people's educational goals change all the time and chances are this is for statistics purposes and doesn't really matter which one you check. They're not going to come back and yell at you because you checked the wrong box. Answered by altaira_3 - Wed Feb 16 15:15:58 2011 do veterinaries hire ppl with no working experience but who are going to start veterinary medicine at collage?
Q. I'm going to travel to london in january, probably stay there for two months. I'm starting collage, and I'm really considering veterinary medicine. So, I wanted to know if I could ask for a job, with the aid of a job agency, on a veterinary shop, to clean, or help in any way that they need it, and get some experience in the area. Do you think they would hire me? or do they just hire vets? thanks! Asked by V - Fri Oct 1 23:21:49 2010 - Health Care - 3 Answers - Comments From Yahoo Answer Search: "veterinary medicine" |
